Juror Appreciation Day turned into a courthouse dance party when singer Neil Sedaka began swinging news anchor Katie Couric to the rhythms of Johnny Colon’s salsa combo.
They were among former jurors honored in a ceremony Thursday in Manhattan’s state Supreme Court building along with actors Uma Thurman, Nathan Lane, Ed Burns and Kathleen Turner and fashion designer Vera Wang.
They were there to testify that jury duty is a privilege, an honor and usually surprisingly educational and interesting.
Lane told the audience he had learned, “The Revolutionary War was fought so you could serve jury duty. This I didn’t know.”
Couric said her favorite line about jury duty was by former juror and sex expert Dr. Ruth Westheimer: “It’s a great way to pick up guys.”

Hello everyone!
My name is Luciana and I’m the new owner of Uma Thurman Fan! I’ve been a huge fan of Uma’s since I first noticed her in Dangerous Liaisons. I always wanted to make a website on Uma, but never did it since we have this one, so complete. I am so excited to start working on the site! I hope I will be able to run it as well as the previous owners have.
I’m in the midst of revamping the whole site, will be switch to the nifty Wordpress, and update the gallery since there’s a lot of pictures missing in the past months without updates. So till then, please stay tuned!
And thank you SO much to Gertie, for letting me have this site.

The Sunday Times interviewed Uma for their July 6, 2008, issue and I have added the article to our press archive. It’s a sweet article about love and life in general and her new engagment
“Oh, come on. I look my age, and I don’t mind. Everyone looks their age - some just look a little bit more fantasy. Being in my late thirties is fine with me. Maybe when 40 hits, the penny will drop and you just hate life. But so far, so good.”
“I didn’t feel awkward, I was awkward. It’s such a clich?? ??, but it’s a truism that tall, gangly women who end up all right later in life are always ugly children. I was funny-looking. I mean, look at my hands. Imagine having these hands at 12! By the time I was 13, I was easily 5ft 10in. Can you imagine? That’s a mess.”
“Oh, yes. People basically said, ‘Sayonara.’ Obviously, I was in my prime, at the top, and that shut it all down. But I wanted to shut it down. I wanted to have a family more than I wanted another 10 jobs.”
“You learn that the first failure isn’t the end. I thought I’d seen the end of my career 10 times over. I’ve experienced them as death blows. What’s nice - after numerous efforts, successes, failures, losses, professional and personal - is to actually accept you’re not going to ace your life. You suffer, then you get on with it. You may spend three months in bed, but, eventually, you’re going to have to get up.”

I still haven’t found any photos from the Engagement party but you can view pictures of several of the famous guests View the photos at the magazine Marie Claire’s website.
Held in a white marquee at Busson’s Kensington home, the party attracted a host of celebrity guests, including, Claudia Schiffer, Liz Hurley, Jemima Khan, Elton John, Sting and Trudie Styler.
The couple announced that they were to be married last week, with Thurman showing of an eight carat diamond engagement ring, which features a further 20 smaller stones surrounding the central diamond.
This will be the third marriage for the Kill Bill actress; she has two children with second husband Ethan Hawke. It is the first for Busson, although he has two children with supermodel Elle Macpherson, with whom he had a long term relationship.

Haven’t been able to find any pictures of Uma at this event but I will see if I’m able to soon!
Actress Uma Thurman and new fiance Arpad ‘Arki’ Busson have wasted no time in throwing a huge engagement party.
The couple only announced their engagement last week but managed to attract a host of celebrity A-listers to the bash.
After Thurman received such a grand engagement ring - said to be an eight-carat diamond surrounded by 20 smaller stones - from the multi-millionaire financier, a lavish engagement party was only to be expected.

Anything for you?
There’s a dream job waiting in Hollywood for one lucky actor - playing gorgeous 6ft Uma Thurman’s lover.
But there’s one drawback - he’ll have to be around 6ft 2ins to do it.
In an industry full of short actors, casting agents are having difficulty finding a tall, upper-class English actor to play Sebastian Rowe, Thurman’s lover in new romcom Eloise In Paris.
A film insider said: “It’s a bit of a stumbling block. So far we’ve failed to find the right man for her. He needs to be ruggedly handsome, very tall, extremely charming and preferably in his late 30s to early 50s.
“He also needs a cut-glass, upper-class, posh accent - or at least the ability to produce a very convincing one.”
